Arrest in Aurora Twp. shooting
A 35-year-old woman faces prison time after being charged in a shooting last month in Aurora Township.
Jeannette M. Lyte, of the 100 block of Pueblo Drive in Montgomery, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon and faces four to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Lyte is accused of shooting a woman in the shoulder June 16 in the 700 block of Terry Avenue. The victim was taken transported to Mercy Provena Center Hospital in Aurora with nonlife threatening injuries and eventually released.
Lyte is due in court Friday and is being held at the Kane County jail on a $75,000 bail.
