IDOT goodies for Gurnee police

Gurnee police recently received some new traffic enforcement equipment from the Illinois Department of Transportation at an awards banquet hosted by the state agency. The gathering was staged by IDOT this month at the Fountain Blue Banquet Center in Des Plaines. An Intoximeters Inc. preliminary breath tester and a Decatur Electronics Inc. Genesis handheld radar unit were awarded to the Gurnee Police Department for participating in IDOT’s Testing for Surviving Drivers Program last year. The program called for breath testing surviving drivers of crashes that involve a fatality and reporting those results to IDOT. In addition, a raffle was held during the banquet ceremony and Gurnee received a Laser Technologies Inc. UltraLyte laser speed-measuring device.
