Chicagoan dies after crashing through glass door

Authorities in Chicago say a gunman died after he tried to run from police and crashed through a glass door.

Police say officers saw the man firing shots Monday night in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the city's South Side. As he fled from officers into a home, authorities say he ran through a glass door and suffered multiple cuts.

The Chicago Tribune says the Cook County medical examiner's office on Tuesday identified the man as 24-year-old Jonrynn Avery.

Police are investigating his death.
