Palatine Fire Department holding grand opening for new station

The Palatine Fire Department will celebrate the grand opening of Fire Station 81, located at 1215 N. Quentin Road, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11.

The public is invited to the ceremony, which will be attended by active and retired firefighters. There will be tours and refreshments, and the fire truck and ambulance housed there will be on display.

The $2.9 million station, which opened last month, was built to improve response times to the village’s northwest corner. The old Dundee Road fire station closed and will be occupied by the Palatine Masonic Temple. The village took over the Masons’ old building at 1 N. Plum Grove Road for the Palatine Road expansion project.
