U.S. must act to stop San Francisco

I have to admit, I never thought I would see the day when a federal law would have to be introduced in the U.S. Congress to ban San Francisco and other municipalities from banning male circumcision. Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman, along with Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison, soon will introduce the Parental Rights Defense Act of 2011. The law will ban municipalities from outlawing this practice,

Sherman, who is Jewish, was quoted recently as saying “Circumcision is obligatory for Jewish-born males — it must be performed on the 8th day after birth and is only postponed in the case of threat to the life or health of the child. Muslim parents also circumcise their male children.”

Sherman is Jewish, and Ellison (if you have forgotten) is the first Muslim elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

As I end this, I just noticed my opening words “I never thought I would see the day,” but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense in light of some of the laws that have previously been passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. This includes the one guaranteeing city residents sunshine.

Yeah, right. Sunshine in the city by the bay. Next thing you know, someone will sing a song telling me that I have to wear flowers in my hair when I go to San Francisco.

Enough said.
