Enough with the 4th-grade humor

Seriously?

There have been a plethora of jokes on the daily news and entertainment shows about former Congressman Anthony Weiner, the majority of them poking fun of his last name as it relates to his bad behavior.

Even our own speaker of the House, John Boehner (as he clarified, is pronounced Bayner) took a shot. Shame on him.

When I was young my parents taught me that it was very mean and hurtful to make fun of a person’s name and here we see it being dished out at many levels of the government and the media.

If the late night talk show hosts take their shots, perhaps it’s funny. But adults? What lessons are we teaching our young people? Come on, grow up.
