Express rolls past Slaughter
After making the IFL playoffs for the second-straight season, the injury-depleated Chicago Slaughter couldn’t muster an offensive attack as the Reading Express rolled to an easy 76-33 first-round win Saturday at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
According to a report at expressindoorfootball.com, the Slaughter managed only 59 total yards of offense. After the Slaughter started with a 52-yard opening kickoff return, the Express scored on the next drive and went on to take a 28-10 lead at half. The second half opened with 2 touchdowns by the Express in the first 31 seconds, including a kick return. The Express defense also blocked a field goal and recovered a fumble for two scores and collected 9 sacks on the night.
The Slaughter closes the IFL season at 8-7.
