Arlington Heights offers scholarships for adult learners

Arlington Heights residents looking to upgrade their education, training or skills with an eye toward returning to the workforce can apply for the Mayor’s Annual Community Scholarship.

The program, developed in cooperation with the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County, is meant to give adults financial assistance, donated by the local business community, for course work at an approved Illinois educational institution. The scholarship can be applied to expenses that include tuition and books.

The deadline for submitting a scholarship application is 5 p.m. Friday, June 24. Applications are available at Arlington Heights Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, or download one at the village’s website, vah.com.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and course work toward career goals. For information, call (847) 368-5102.
