Emergency landing closes airport in Milwaukee Co.

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin's largest airport has reopened after a SkyWest Airlines flight made an emergency landing.

Milwaukee County's Mitchell International Airport was back in operation about 11:30 p.m. Monday after the plane with landing gear trouble landed safely about two hours earlier.

Airport spokeswoman Pat Rowe (ROH) says because of construction work on one of Mitchell's two runways, the airport was forced to close until the plane could be moved safely from the runway.

WTMJ radio (http://bit.ly/io5Z5E ) says all 41 passengers and three crew members were safely taken off the plane after it landed.
