U.S. needs its top Middle East ally

Ouch! What is that sharp painful feeling below my shoulders? Could it be our president just stabbed Israel in the back by calling for Israel to return to its 1967 borders? Did the executive branch of our federal government just throw Israel under the bus?

At a minimum, the recent rhetoric from President Obama created a very disturbing “perception” that the U.S. is no longer joined at the hip with our closest and most reliable ally in the Middle East. Do you think Israel can survive if it goes back to its pre-Six Day War 1967 borders by returning the Golan Heights to Syria? Does the president really expect Israel to agree to borders in which Israel would be approximately 10 miles wide in some places?

This is not a Democrat vs. Republican issue. The issue is whether or not Israel will continue to exist without the full backing of the U.S. government.
