Buffalo Grove farmers market opens June 19
The Buffalo Grove Farmers Market kicks off the 2011 season on June 19.
The market will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Spray ‘n Play Park, 951 N. McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove.
Since it’s opening day as well as Father’s Day, the group is sponsoring a free raffle. All dads are encouraged to sign up for free Buffalo Grove Farmers Market gift certificates at the information booth.
There will be more than 25 vendors with an outstanding array of products including, meats, dairy, veggies, fruit, flowers, spices, herbs, seasonings, kettle corn, mushrooms, pastries, hot dogs, dog biscuits and tapenades. Doughnuts will be made fresh on site, a knife sharpener will also be on site and much more.
Entertainment on opening day includes an acoustic guitar and singing act of folk, kids and pop music. A roving balloon artist will produce custom creations.
Visitors are asked to bring nonperishables to donate to the Vernon Township Food Pantry. The collection will be taken at the information booth.
The farmers market goes on, rain or shine.
