Vice president in Chicago for epilepsy foundation

Illinois dignitaries have turned out for a fundraiser with Vice President Joe Biden to benefit an epilepsy research foundation.

Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel were among the 900 people who attended a fundraiser for CURE — Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy.

It’s a group the wife of President Barack Obama’s campaign adviser David Axelrod helped to create.

The fundraiser was held late Tuesday at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

Both Axelrod and Emanuel worked with Biden in the Obama administration. Axelrod was a top White House adviser and Emanuel was Obama’s chief of staff before they both returned to Chicago.
