Downers Grove South 6, Plainfield North 4:The fifth-seeded Mustangs (25-13) upset top-seeded Plainfield North (32-3) in the Class 4A Neuqua Valley sectional semifinals. With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the sixth, the Mustangs#146; Jacob Wolf launched a solo home and Kyle Engel doubled home an insurance run. Downers South#146;s Nick Burdi (6-1) pitched 5 innings to earn the win, and Matt Wivinis closed the game with two scoreless innings of relief to notch the save. Downers South, which burst to a 4-0 first-inning lead before Plainfield North tied it in the fifth, advances to Saturday#146;s sectional final to face Thursday#146;s winner between Neuqua Valley and Providence. The Mustangs will play for their first sectional title since 2005.
