God’s word is final on Israel

For many years various political leaders have been trying to broker a “peace” between the Jews and the Palestinians. The name Palestine is derived from the name Philistine, which were a indo-European people who lived in the area of the Gaza strip. They are no relation to the Palestinian people who now live in Israel.

Those people, I have read, came from Jordan, and at some point returned there — but there was no talk of creating a state for them there. The Israelites (or Jews) first began living in what is now called Israel around 1250 B.C., when “Joshua fought the battle of Jericho” and many other battles to claim the land that God had promised to them many years prior to that. The Jews have lived in Israel ever since.

However, there were long periods when some of them were exiled due to being defeated and carried off to Assyria and Babylon. And in later years some of them were living in many parts of the world until a state was given (back to them) in 1948. But there were always some Jews living in the land.

The Palestinians are ruled by a “Unity Government” which includes Hamas, a terrorist organization whose goal it is to kill the Jews and claim all the land for themselves; they do not recognize the state of Israel. The land of Israel was given to the Jews by God as stated in Genesis 15:18 when speaking to Abraham, ”To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates.” In Genesis 17:8, God said he would give them the land “as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you.”

There is no higher authority than God, and his word will be final.
