Chicago man charged in fatal stabbing of mother

CHICAGO — Authorities in Chicago have charged a 30-year-old man in the stabbing death of his 67-year-old mother who was killed outside the bar she owned on the city's northwest side.

Police say Cezar Henry Waskowski is charged with first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

His mother, Henryka Waskowski, was stabbed to death early Monday.

Police are also investigating the death of Waskowski's 73-year-old father, Cezar Waskowski.

The father was found fatally stabbed in his home on Monday by officers investigating the attack on Henryka Waskowski. No charges have been filed in the father's death.

Police say Henryka Waskowski was chased down the street and stabbed outside her tavern. A bar employee who tried to help her also suffered a minor stab wound.
