Ice cream for a cause

Members of the Des Plaines Professional Firefighters Local 4211 will participate in a national charity fundraiser, "31 Cent Scoop Night," from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at two local Baskin and Robbins Ice Cream Stores located at 752 W. Oakton St. and 1552 Rand Road.

Members of the fire department and their families will be scooping 31-cent ice cream scoops and will be providing fire prevention public education.

The Des Plaines Fire Department engine will visit the two locations during the course of the evening.

Members of Des Plaines Professional Firefighters Local 4211 will be accepting donations for the union's Charity Committee which donates and supports local events within the City.
