SAN FRANCISCO — Engineering, construction and technical services company URS Corp. said Tuesday that it has been awarded a share of a contract worth up to $950 million from the Department of Defense.

Under the terms of the deal, URS will provide training, engineering, facilities maintenance and management services for the Department's cooperative threat reduction program. URS is one of four companies that won a piece of the overall contract. Its potential share of the work and the compensation was not disclosed.

The contract has a five-year base term followed by a one year option period.
