8-year-old girl struck by SUV dies

Police in Chicago are looking for the driver who struck an 8-year-old girl riding her bicycle outsider her home, killing the child.

Authorities say Mariela Crisostomo was hit by an SUV Tuesday afternoon in a neighborhood on Chicago's southwest side.

Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak says investigators are looking for a gray or silver-colored SUV.

Kubiak says the SUV struck the girl and knocked her underneath a parked vehicle.

The Cook County medical examiner's office says the child was pronounced dead Wednesday morning at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
