Geneva offers money for shopper entertainment
The city of Geneva hopes to have a live soundtrack for shopping and dining in the downtown area this summer by offering money to businesses to hire street entertainers. The money can be used to hire singers, musicians, mimes, jugglers and musicians. The money comes from a tax levied on hotel and motel stays. The city has budgeted $5,000 for the effort. The amusement must be scheduled for non-festival days. The city will match the business#146; expenditure, up to $500. The entertainment must take place in a private plaza or parking lot, or on public property (subject to city approval). It must be free to the public.Information about eligible expenses, program guidelines and application forms are available at City Hall, 22 S.
