White Sox at Oakland A’s scouting report

White Sox vs. Oakland A’s at the Coliseum

TV: WGN today; Comcast SportsNet Saturday and Sunday

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

Pitching matchups: The Sox’ Phil Humber (2-3) vs. Brandon McCarthy (1-3) today at 9:07 p.m.; Gavin Floyd (4-2) vs. Tyson Ross (2-2) Saturday at 3:07 p.m.; Mark Buehrle (2-3) vs. Trevor Cahill (5-0) Sunday at 3:07 p.m.

At a glance: The White Sox wrap up their nine-game road trip after winning two of three at Seattle and Los Angeles. The A’s won two of three from the Sox at U.S. Cellular Field in mid-April. All three games went 10 innings. Floyd is reportedly set to go after being hit on the foot by an Ichiro Suzuki grounder in his last start. Mark Teahen (oblique) had to leave Wednesday night’s game at Los Angeles early and his status is unknown. Dallas Braden started the series opener for Oakland at the Cell in April and allowed 1 run in 6 innings. But the lefty is scheduled to have shoulder surgery Monday and is likely to miss the rest of the season. McCarthy, who broke in with the White Sox before being sent to Texas in the John Danks trade, makes his second career start against his old team. In his last three starts this season, McCarthy has pitched 19.2 innings and allowed 15 runs (11 earned) on 27 hits and 5 walks. Steve Stone is off this series, so Tom Paciorek is reuniting with Hawk Harrelson in the TV broadcast booth.

Next: Texas Rangers, Monday-Tuesday at U.S. Cellular Field
