Lombard picks deputy police chief

A 16-year veteran of the Lombard Police Department, Lt. Tom Wirsing, has been named deputy chief of administrative services.

Wirsing has supervised the investigations division for the past seven years after serving in a variety of capacities, including field training officer, detective, evidence technician and juvenile officer. Chief Ray Byrne said Wirsing will begin his new duties immediately.
