Elk Grove Village man collapses, dies, during downtown run

An Elk Grove Village man collapsed and died Thursday during the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in downtown Chicago Thursday.

An autopsy is planned on the runner, identified by the Cook County coroner's office as Ralph Nosal of Elk Grove Village. The Chicago Tribune reports that Nosal was believed to have been in his 40s.

Authorities say he collapsed during Thursday's race and was pronounced dead.

According to the Corporate Challenge website, the 3.5-mile race had more than 23,000 runners from 635 companies.
