Slaughter upends Green Bay
The Chicago Slaughter picked up its sixth win of the IFL season with a 42-39 victory Friday night over division rival Green Bay.
The Blizzard had won six straight games until getting stopped by the Slaughter before 3,727 fans at the Sears Centre, according to a report at oursportscentral.com.
Green Bay had a 22-20 lead at halftime, and the Slaughter took the lead back on a 15-yard TD pass by quarterback Ben Sankey to James Robinson early in the third quarter.
The game was knotted at 39-39 in the fourth quarter when Chicago kicker Chris Nendick nailed a 41-yard field goal with 14 seconds left to win the game.
The victory puts the Slaughter in third place in the Great Lakes Division behind Bloomington (7-2) and Green Bay (6-2).
