Hoffman Estates Germanfest returns Sept. 17

The village of Hoffman Estates Arts Commission is proud to bring back its Oktoberfest-themed open-air Platzkonzert Germanfest, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

This free celebration of all things German will take place at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green, 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, off Route 72 in the Prairie Stone Business Park, just west of the Sears Centre Arena.

The Johnny Wagner Band will provide authentic German music, while the Edelweiss Schuhplattler Dancers entertain the crowd. The Tenors 3 will also be singing. Many other surprises are in store, including a stein-carrying contest and activities for the kids.

Like last year, German beer will be available for purchase. What better way to complement authentic bratwurst, sauerkraut and German potato salad? German wine will also be available.
