Ÿ Antoynette Alfred, 29, of the 1200 block of Fairwood Court, was arrested and charged with battery after she reportedly punched another woman just before 5 p.m. Friday, police reports said. The victim had previously yelled at some juveniles when she saw them destroying a bird’s nest. Alfred went to the victim’s house and told the victim not to yell at her kids, and then chest-bumped and punched the victim, reports said. Alfred posted $150 bond and is due to appear in court June 10. Later that night round 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim’s father called police to report that a male rang the doorbell, got into an argument with him about the altercation and threated to come back with a gun and shoot him.
Ÿ Jaquita Hall, 25, of Elgin, was arrested and charged with battery and obstructing a peace officer, and Evelyn Hall, 29, of Elgin, and Shada Horton, 25, of Carpentersville, were arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer after a fight broke out around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a pub in the 200 block of McLean Boulevard, police reports said. The three women were among a group of five women who got into a fight with another group of five women. The three women charged did not comply with officers’ requests to stop fighting, reports said, adding that Jaquita Hall reportedly punched another woman and struck her in the face with her high-heeled shoe, causing a cut. All three women were issued notices to appear in court June 24.
Ÿ A resident of the 400 block of Harrison Street reported Friday being the victim of ID theft after he was informed by a local bank that date of birth and Social Security number had been used to issue a home mortgage and several credit cards in his name, police reports said.
Ÿ A woman reported her cellphone was stolen from her purse sometime between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Meijer, 815 S. Randall Road, police reports said.
Ÿ Police was called when the resident of the 1300 block of Fleetwood Drive became combative after someone found him on the floor of the lobby next to a pool of vomit around 11 p.m. Friday, police reports said. The resident started yelling and punching the person who woke him up. The resident was transported to Sherman Hospital for intoxication treatment.
Ÿ A four-foot section of three-inch copper pipe was reportedly stolen from the basement of a building in the 0-100 block of McLean Boulevard sometime on Friday, police reports said. A similar theft had occurred in a building on Larkin Avenue owned by the same person, but that theft was unreported.
Ÿ A resident of the 1200 block of Maroon Drive in Elgin reported that a computer keyboard and mouse, plus two pillows, a comforter and a bath towel were stolen from her residence after her roommate moved out May 6, police reports said. The resident also said her gold necklace valued at $2,000 went missing between March 30 and April 1 when she was briefly hospitalized. At the time, her roommate denied taking the items, and no police report was filed.
