Downers North blanks Lemont

Kendall Ryndak threw a six-inning perfect game with 7 strikeouts and also slugged one of No. 6 Downers Grove North’s three homers in a 10-0 win over Lemont on Saturday in Downers Grove.

Ryndak (13-1) hit a 2-run homer, Sam Yeager a two-run homer and Dale Ryndak a solo shot in the Trojans’ (26-3) five-run third inning. Yeager was 4-for-4, Kendall Ryndak 3-for-4 with a double and Rachel Bradley 3-for-4 with a double.

Metea Valley 3, Bartlett 0:Stephanie Bova struck out eight in five innings of relief, working out of a bases-loaded, none out jam in the sixth for the visiting Mustangs (13-9, 8-7 Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division). Jenn Faassen went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Anna Petersen drove in 2 for Metea, which broke a scoreless tie with a run in the fifth and tacked on 2 in the seventh. Metea Valley 11, Burlington Central 9:Anna Petersen went 4-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI for Metea, which scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh to erase an 8-7 deficit in a back-and-forth game. Alise Perna also went 2-for-4, homered, scored twice and had 2 RBI and Jenn Faassen went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI.Neuqua Valley 4, Lake Park 2:Jena Boudreau went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and freshman Jamie O#146;Brien (1-0) pitched four innings of shutout relief, striking out four, as Neuqua (13-8) won the nonconference second game of a doubleheader in Roselle.Benet 6-6, Joliet Catholic 1-4:Ali Michalik#146;s two-out, two-run single in the top of the fifth of the second game scored the tying and go-ahead runs, rallying Benet (20-9) to a doubleheader sweep in Joliet. Maeve McGuire homered, Nora McGuire doubled twice and scored 2 runs and Julianne Rurka went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI in Game 1. Wheaton North 9-5, Lyons Twp. 4-1:The Falcons erupted for 8 runs in the fourth inning of Game 1, rallying in LaGrange. Kelsey Ullrich went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Rachel Holaway drove in 3 runs. Tied 1-1 in Game 2, Wheaton North (15-10) scored 3 times in the sixth, Natalie Leahy#146;s bases-loaded squeeze bunt bringing in the go-ahead run. Katie Thornton went 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI and Paige Wilson 3-for-4 with a double and triple.Glenbard North 9, Glenbard East 6:Alexis Simone went 3-for-4 with a 3-run homer and a double, Alyssa Jasinski doubled 3 times and drove in a run and Sydney Benz was 2-for-4 for the No. 5 Panthers (15-4, 8-4 DuPage Valley Conference).Naperville North 12-13, Plainfield North 2-1:Caitlyn Warren hit an inside-the-park solo homer and doubled twice in the second game, and a 2-run shot in Game 1 for the Huskies (12-10).
