“The Hobbit” onstage

The Improv Playhouse Young Actors Workshop will present “The Hobbit” this weekend at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center. This play depicts a suspenseful, fast-moving journey through the dark, charming, and compelling world of Middle Earth. With familiar characters from the Lord of the Rings series, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Wizard, Thorin Oakenshield, dwarfs, elves and a menacing dragon, adventure ensues to recover the lost treasure of Lonely Mountain. Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, May 27; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 28; and, 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29.
