Enough, already, about bin Laden

Stop the madness! The man is dead, and I believe it was a message that needed to be sent. Do we now need to glorify him by making him front-page news? Frankly, I do not need to read more about this. I do not need to see his face or know how they disposed of his body.

I hope that the families of the victims of 911 find some peace knowing that the man is gone; but watching the rejoicing, singing and flag waving seemed wrong to me. We looked no better than the fanatics chanting overseas. We are better than that, aren’t we? Do we really need to give them more reason to hate us?

Osama bin Laden’s death does not make me feel more safe — actually I am frightened of the possible attempts at retaliation. He is gone. Now let’s go about the business of finding a solution to peace.
