Cougars clip Chiefs

Designated hitter Alex Llanos sparked the Kane County Cougars to a 7-3 victory over the Peoria Chiefs on Saturday night before a season-high 9,105 at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva. The Cougars have won four of their last five games.

Llanos scored twice, once on a throwing error after he stole second base, and he drove in a run. Julio Aparicio and Ryan Jenkins added RBI to help starter Leonel Santiago (3-4) earned the victory. He allowed 2 runs — 1 earned — in 7 innings.
