Let’s set holiday to honor Chavez
I am writing to ask the state or federal government to declare a holiday to honor Cesar Chavez. I think this is important because he fought for farm workers.
The purpose of honoring someone in our country is to thank someone who has won rights. In January, we honor Martin Luther King because he fought for integration. The purpose of this day would be to remember what farm workers had to live with. Cesar Chavez was an effective leader, because he helped the farmers to get better pay, better working environment and better living conditions. In conclusion, he would be inspiring farm workers because they can have more rights.
I think that this would be an important day for our country to honor Cesar Chavez, who fought for farm workers to get better pay and fought for what they didn’t have. It will benefit the school and community at large because he gave Mexicans the belief to fight for rights. Please consider this day.
