More job losses in Rolling Meadows, Elk Grove Village

Some 346 jobs will leave two Northwest suburbs this summer, though some of the jobs are being relocated, according to a state-issued report.

Officials from the Bank of America at 1600 Golf Road in Rolling Meadows told the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity last month that 110 workers would be laid off beginning June 15. A cause was not provided in the report.

Down the road at Dish Network Services, 2100 E. Golf Road, 53 jobs will be lost beginning July 1 due to a staff relocation.

In Elk Grove Village, 76 workers will lose their jobs at Durham School Services, 850 Elmhurst Road, after the bus company lost a contract. The layoffs will begin June 13.

RR Donnelley will close its facility at 1099 Greenleaf Ave. in June, affecting 107 workers. But all workers have been offered jobs at the company’s new location at 609 S. Kirk Road in St. Charles, said Doug Fitzgerald, a company spokesman.

Employers are required to inform the state Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity 60 days before mass layoffs or a pending plant closure. The Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification law applies to businesses with 75 or more full-time employees.
