Obama’s oil-drilling policy costs us all
When are people going to get angry at this administration’s policies that are driving up the cost of energy in the United States? From the moment he started campaigning for the 2008 election President Obama has made very clear he was not a supporter of oil or coal and has pretty much declared war on the energy producers in this country. Again, it’s never his fault. He consistently blames every bad thing happening on somebody else. Now he’s blaming the speculators — they’re an easy target.
Gas was on average $1.87 a gallon when Obama took office, it’s now past $4 a gallon, and it’s all due to his policies. Because of Obama’s policies domestic oil production is down 13 percent, which means the U.S. is dependent on foreign oil more than ever.
The Middle East always has been and always will be a hotbed where anything can happen. Take that equation out by producing more here in the U.S. We have plenty of oil and natural gas here. Why does our government, especially this president, put us in these dangerous positions with bad energy policies?
Research new energy technology? Absolutely. But in the meantime we have the ability to be much more self-sufficient when it comes to energy. Oil and coal are plentiful, let’s get it.
Also, recently scientists have discovered that oil wells which had been abandoned because they went dry have since been replenished. If the president rescinds the moratorium on oil drilling, oil prices will go down immediately. I don’t fully understand this country’s energy policies, especially this president’s energy policies because they make no sense whatsoever. But it’s hurting everybody and it’s also putting us at risk. Drill here! Drill now!
