Police arrest four after armed standoff in Hoffman Estates
Hoffman Estates police took four people into custody Saturday night and early Sunday morning after what they described as an “armed barricade standoff” that lasted approximately two hours.
Officers responded about 10 p.m. to several 911 calls reporting gunshots fired from a home in the 200 block of East Berkley Lane, police said.
When they arrived, officers took one suspect into custody, but several other individuals remained inside the house, police said.
For the safety of the residents, police said they cordoned off the area while attempting to communicate with individuals in the residence. When they refused to surrender, the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Service Team was called to respond.
The house was surrounded before three subjects surrendered to police without incident at 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
The investigation is ongoing and police had no further comment Sunday morning.
