Murder shows need for changes in laws

The shooting of an innocent woman in a parking lot by a Canadian male shows two things the state of Illinois must do.

First, pass concealed carry now and give citizens the right to protect themselves as do the other 48 states — soon to be 49 with Wisconsin. That woman might still be alive and the murderer dead if she had been allowed concealed carry like other Americans. How many more will it take for this state to wake up?

Second, reinstall the death penalty and quit coddling murderers. We are so ready to arrest someone who shoots an intruder breaking in their house, and yet we will let the criminals live and feed and clothe them the rest of their life. Something is drastically wrong here.
