Woodland students feast on Southeast cuisine for studies
Students at Woodland District 50's Intermediate School participated in a Southeast Feast last month, as part of a unit in which they studied food in all 12 Southeast states.
Teresa Glancy's fourth-graders presented projects, and each brought in a dish to represent the state he or she had been studying.
"We have been studying the Southeast region of the United States and incorporating this activity as we learn about the cultural history of the region and its resources," Glancy said.
Fourth-grader Georgia Shiu enjoys some Southeastern food as kids in Teresa Glany's class had a feast last month.
