Palatine man guilty in Iowa
A Palatine man was sentenced last week to two five-year prison terms by a Jackson County Iowa district court judge, for willful injury causing bodily injury and going armed with intent, the Quad City Times reported.
David Zabransky, 47, was originally charged with attempted murder but pleaded guilty to lesser charges. Authorities say he shot a man in the abdomen on Nov. 22, 2009, during a fight between Zabransky's friend and the victim outside a Sabula, Iowa, bar.
The sentences are to run consecutively.
