Pitching matchups: The Cubs’ Ryan Dempster (1-2) vs. Barry Enright (0-2) Thursday at 8:40 p.m.; Carlos Zambrano (2-1) vs. Armando Galarraga (3-1) Friday at 8:40 p.m.; Matt Garza (0-3) vs. Ian Kennedy (3-1) Saturday at 7:10 p.m.; Casey Coleman (1-1) vs. Daniel Hudson (1-4) Sunday at 3:10 p.m.

At a glance: The Cubs took two of three from the Diamondbacks on the first homestand of the season. Wednesday’s rainout buys the Cubs some time on their problematic fifth starter’s spot. The Cubs are 4-5 on the road this year. Last season, they were 3-0 at Chase Field. Arizona will throw four right-handers at the Cubs. Entering Wednesday, the Cubs ranked second in team batting average and fourth in on-base percentage, but they were hitting just .229 with runners in scoring position. Neither team has pitched well — the D’backs were 14th in ERA, and the Cubs were 15th.
