Naperville Apple store robbed for third time
A Naperville Apple store fell victim to a smash-and-grab burglary early Monday morning for the third time since September, according to police.
Five masked and hooded bandits wearing gloves shattered the front door of the store at 120 W. Jefferson Ave. at about 4:31 a.m. and made off with approximately $30,000 in computer equipment, according to authorities.
The suspects filled tote containers with the equipment and were in the store for less than one minute, according to police. Police responded to the store’s activated alarm about 12 minutes later.
The same store was robbed in a similar fashion in mid-January when thieves shattered the front door and stole $30,000 worth of computer equipment.
Police said two suspects wearing ski masks and gloves committed the January break-in.
The January offenders also entered the store with tote containers after smashing the front doors at about 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, according to police.
The store was robbed of equipment totaling $24,000 in September after thieves shattered the front doors just before 5 a.m.
Police are asking anyone with information about Monday’s robbery to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.
A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.
