Appleton man charged with assaulting Chicago 11-year-old

APPLETON, Wis. — An Appleton man has been charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl that he allegedly met online.

Court records say the two had been chatting for some time on the phone and on the Internet. Prosecutors say 24-year-old Alan Reh drove to Chicago to pick up the girl in an alley near her home about 3 a.m. Wednesday. When the girl's mother reported her missing, investigators used phone records, calls and texts to find Reh and the girl at his Appleton apartment.

Reh is facing up to 125 years in prison if convicted on charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. WLUK-TV says Reh does not yet have an attorney.

Bond was set at $100,000 during a court appearance in Outagamie County.
