Elgin

Ÿ Michael E. Wade, 25, of the 700 block of Thorndale Drive in Elgin, appeared in bond court Monday on charges of obstructing identification, a misdemeanor, according to court documents. Elgin police stopped Wade after 10 p.m. Sunday while he was driving down Liberty Street, police reports said. Wade gave an incorrect name to police and said he didn’t have his license but was later identified correctly, as a man with active warrants in Kane, Lake and Boone counties, reports said. Bond was set at $7,500 Monday, of which Wade must pay 10 percent to be released before his next court date for obstructing identification, set for 9 a.m. on April 29 in St. Charles.

Ÿ A radar detector, a Sony Handycam and about $40 in Chuck E. Cheese game tokens were stolen from a vehicle between 2 p.m. April 21 and 4 a.m. April 22 while it was in a parking lot in the 800 block of Carriage Way in Elgin, according to police reports.

Ÿ Two televisions, an Xbox game system and several pieces of jewelry were stolen between 7:45 and 9:30 p.m. Friday from a residence in the 500 block of Mill Street, police reports said. A BMX bicycle also was stolen from the garage. The front door was broken to gain entry.

Ÿ Two motorized bicycles were stolen between 3 and 6:15 p.m. Friday from the front porch of a residence in the 1500 block of Maple Lane, police reports said.

Ÿ A pair of jeans valued at $80 was stolen about 6:30 p.m. Friday from J Mart at 6 S. State St., police reports said. Three people, two men and a woman, came into the store together, and an employee noticed a bulge in the jacket of one of the two men. The three ran out of the store northbound on State Street after the employee asked the man to open up his jacket.

Ÿ A woman reported her cellphone was stolen at 3 p.m. Friday after she left it on the counter of a Marathon gas station at 500 S. McLean Blvd., police reports said. The woman said she put the phone down to get something out of her purse and when she turned around, the phone was missing.

Ÿ Eggs were thrown around 8:45 p.m. Friday at a house in the 2300 block of Vineyard Court, police reports said. Window screens were damaged.

Kane County

Ÿ Ryan S. Westerman, 23, of the 900 block of Iroquois Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper use of registration after at traffic stop at 11:51 p.m. April 19 at Middle Street and Route 25 near South Elgin, reports said. Authorities found a pipe filled with burned cannabis in Westerman’s vehicle, reports said.
