Extreme Block Party EXPO coming to Libertyville
The Multi-Chamber Extreme Block Party EXPO, on April 30 at the Libertyville Sports Complex, will feature a full retail marketplace of local vendors, entertainment, raffles, food, activities, fun and more all under one roof.
EXPO hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. The Libertyville Sports Complex is located at routes 45 and 137, Libertyville.
The Block Party is presented by the Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV), Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake County Chamber of Commerce, as a way to showcase chamber member businesses and community to the public.
More than 80 vendors, ranging from home improvement to health care, will be on-site displaying the latest products, services and resources throughout the day. Many vendors will offer special show promotions and sell products from the show floor.
“This is no ordinary EXPO,” GLMV Executive Director Alese Campbell said in a news release. “There is something for everyone at this community, family-friendly event.”
A 42-inch Samsung Plasma TV, sponsored by Aaron’s Sales & Lease, will be raffled off along with other prizes worth thousands of dollars. Other raffle prizes include entertainment packages, hotel stays, sports jersey, gift certificates, products, services and more. Ten raffle prizes will be drawn per hour. Raffle entry is free at EXPO and at Aaron’s, 372 Townline Road, Mundelein.
The popular Traveling World of Reptile Show will perform at noon. The show is sponsored by Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. Improv Playhouse/Music Now DJ Group will also entertain along with several mascots. Other activities include Moonwalk, sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Vernon Hills Clinic, facepainting, Hoola Hoop contests and more.
Area eateries providing food samples include Fodrak’s Hot Dogs, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Sweet Sheila’s Popcorn and Taste of Paris.
