Gurnee parks hold family fun event

Gurnee Park District’s Family Fun Day and Passport Event is set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Hunt Club Park soccer fields, 900 N. Hunt Club Road. Action is to include kite-flying entertainment, music, free safety seat checks by Gurnee police, refreshments, race cars and more. In the middle of the fun, visitors may check a booth for a passport to visit more than 10 local agencies including Warren Township, Woodland Elementary District 50, Gurnee Elementary District 56, Warren Township High School District 121, the village of Gurnee, Warren-Newport Public Library District and Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake. Only the indoor passport activities will remain scheduled in case of inclement weather and will be moved to Hunt Club Park Community Center. Call the hotline at (847) 599-5499 for weather updates.
