Erbeck voted off Gilberts village board
With all precincts reporting in the race for Gilberts village board, two challengers led over incumbent Bruce Erbeck.
The race for three 4-year seats also included incumbent Patricia Mierisch and challengers Daniel Corbett and Louis Hacker.
Corbett had the most votes, claiming 377, with Hacker at 341 and Mierisch at 335.
Erbeck finished with 300, not enough for re-election.
“For now I’m going to be content working with whatever board is in place,” said Erbeck, who plans to stay involved with the parks department but may launch a future campaign for a county or state race.
Mierisch is best known for her contributions to the Citizen Emergency Response Team training program and Citizen Corps Council. Erbeck was the driving force behind eliminating vehicle stickers by renegotiating a lower-cost garbage contract.
Corbett and Hacker said they joined the race to step up their own service to the village. Corbett’s campaign focused on improving communication between village government and residents. Hacker pushed to more aggressively pursue retail growth in town.
