Wolves rally, then lose in shootout
PEORIA — The Chicago Wolves forced overtime with a late third-period goal but suffered a 6-5 shootout loss to the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena on Saturday night.
Tim Miller (2 goals, assist), Darren Haydar (goal, assist), Spencer Machacek and Paul Postma scored goals for the Wolves.
Andrew Kozek was the only Wolves player to score in the shootout while Wolves goaltender Peter Mannino stopped only 2 of Peoria's 4 attempts. The Wolves tied the score at 5-5 with 3:10 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Center Jason Krog dug the puck out behind the net and fed it to Machacek, who scored top shelf.
