Ÿ A 28-year-old Chicago man car was found in the trunk of his black Lexus parked with the motor running at the intersection of Blackhawk Drive and Ford Avenue around 7 p.m. Thursday, police reports said. The man had called 911 from the trunk of the car, and told police he gave a friend a ride to the 900 block of Carriage Way. The man’s friend got out of the vehicle and about 15 minutes later an unknown man got in the passenger seat, pointed a gun at the driver and told him to start driving. The unknown man then made the driver pull over, robbed him of about $400 to $500, and told him to get in the trunk. No arrests were made.

Ÿ Jose Q. DeLaPaz, 21, of 1700 Mark Avenue, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis at 5:20 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Neutrenton Avenue, police reports said. Residents called police to complain because DeLaPaz was sitting in a Ford Explorer in the visitors’ parking space. Police found 2.1 grams of cannabis between the driver’s seat and the center console. DeLaPaz was released and is due to appear in court May 2.

Ÿ More than 360 gallons of green diesel were stolen from a tanker parked in yard of a company in the 1100 block of Buff City Boulevard sometime between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and midnight Thursday, police reports said. The company reported other thefts of diesel had occurred in the past.

Ÿ Odometer fraud was reported by a woman who purchased a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan March 19 from someone in the 500 block of North Liberty Street, police reports said. The odometer showed just over 134,000 miles, but when the new owner picked up new plates from the Secretary of State’s office she was informed the vehicle had 189,000 at the time of the last title transfer.

Ÿ Someone stole $10 out of a woman’s purse while it was in her unlocked desk in a cubicle at the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, 12N124 Coombs Road, near Elgin. The theft happened between 8:50 and 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. The woman told deputies that another co-worker also had something stolen out of a purse.
