Keep the bad guys guessing

Thanks for publishing the article on Page 1 Feb. 15 about the pharmacist “who legally owns the registered gun and was allowed to have it in the business” who protected himself and the other employees and customers with his/her handgun instead of burying it in the paper or not publishing it at all. If criminals didn’t think that everyone was unarmed they might not act as brazen as this perpetrator did.

Other countries have proved that trying to disarm the citizens leads to greater violent crime, not less. Let’s do what we need to keep the bad guys guessing, and this means having Illinois join almost every other state in the nation with concealed-carry privileges.

After all, with budget cuts we cannot expect there to be a police officer everywhere.
