AU to welcome Mideast analyst
“Revolution in the Middle East” will be explored by journalist, educator and Middle East analyst Carl Schrag at Aurora University.
Schrag, a Highland Park resident, will speak at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration, 407 S. Calumet Ave. This free program is sponsored by the Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action.

Schrag shares his expert insights on Israeli affairs with audiences across North America. He puts current events into perspective by examining them in the context of recent and ancient history.
Schrag studies Israel on campus, Israeli education and the changing relationship between American Jews and Israel, with a particular emphasis on how current events impact these ties.
He develops innovative curriculum designed to enhance American Jews’ connection to Israel and deepen their understanding of modern Israel’s history and role in the world.
In addition to developing and teaching the IsraLimmud curriculum for the JCRC/Hillel Israel Initiative, Schrag is senior mentor of Write On For Israel, an Israel education and advocacy program for high school students, and an Associate of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.
He moved to Israel from Los Angeles in 1986. He was the editor of The Jerusalem Post, Israel’s leading English-language daily.
In 2000, Schrag came to the United States to broaden his perspective on the U.S.-Israel relationship.
