Northwestern scouting report

Minnesota (17-11, 6-10) at Northwestern (16-12, 6-11)

When: 7:30 p.m. at Welsh-Ryan Arena

TV: BTN

Radio: WIND 560-AM

The skinny: Barring an NIT home game two weeks hence, this represents the last chance to see record-setting point guard Juice Thompson on his home court. The Wildcats are holding a pregame Senior Night ceremony for Thompson, Mike Capocci, Jeff Ryan and Ivan Peljusic — and hoping all four will get to play in this regular-season finale. Thompson owns the school records for starts (123), games (123), assists (503) and minutes (4,385). He’s second in 3-pointers (253) and needs just 23 points (1,561) to vault into third place on the all-time scoring chart. Capocci, the Glenbard East grad, just played a career-high 33 minutes in Sunday’s loss at Wisconsin. He’ll get similar time Wednesday night if freshman JerShon Cobb’s pulled hip/groin forces him to miss another game. The Wildcats already are locked into the Big Ten tournament’s 8/9 game. If the Gophers lose either game this week, they’ll be NU’s opponent.
