Gieser an innovative and collaborative leader
If a leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way, then Rick Gieser has my vote to become the next mayor of Carol Stream.
I met Rick eight years ago at a Carol Stream Women's Club candidate forum during his first campaign to become a village trustee. Since that time and during his two terms as trustee, I've been most impressed with his open-minded decision-making style and ability to hear both sides of an issue before making an informed decision. Once made, he stands by those decisions and works tirelessly in behalf of his constituents.
Because communication is key to success in any political system, I'm also impressed with Rick's commitment to enhanced 21st century technology and his constant volunteer presence at a variety of community activities. On the communications front, Rick stands well poised with a firm foundation including a bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Indiana University, his work as a radio sports producer and proven public relations expertise.
Whether it's helping to organize the village's 50th anniversary recollection and round-table series, ensuring the Thursday night concert series is funded completely through sponsorships, working to increase programming on the village TV, hosting a bike ride, participating in school and park district events, helping organize the Fourth of July parade, honoring Carol Stream Citizens of the Year or encouraging green initiatives and recycling, it seems Rick is everywhere, volunteering his time and talents. As a lifelong Carol Stream resident, Rick's passion for the community shines. His innovative and collaborative leadership style makes him my choice for mayor.
