Larkin 2, Belvidere North 1: The Royals (3-1) gave up a run in the first inning, but then played 6 straight innings of shutout softball as they defeated visiting Belvidere North. Lexi Smithberg went 2-for-2 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI to lead Larkin offensively while Megan Johnson also turned in a 2-for-2 performance from the plate. Kiernan Schock (2-1) picked up the complete game victory as she surrendered 3 hits and walked 4 while striking out 8.

DeKalb 5, Elgin 0: The Maroons (1-1) could not manage to get a hit and fell victim to the strikeout 13 times as the Barbs proved to be too much in this nonconference matchup. Freshman Jennah Perryman (0-1) suffered the loss in her first varsity start giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4.

Sandwich 7, Hampshire 0: The Whip-Purs (0-1) struggled in their first game of the season as they fell to Sandwich on the road. Jen Hurst (0-1) threw 6 innings while giving up 4 earned runs, 6 hits, and 4 walks while striking out 6.
